Doesn't this just about cap it all? I heard on the News this morning that the term 'spotted dick' - (a steamed suet pudding, commonly served with fruit and custard) is now to be called Spotted Richard! Lol

I don't know if it's the same in the States Krissy, but all men here with the name Richard invariably get called 'Dick' as a nickname, don't ask me why, I don't even know how it comes about do you?

It is the same here. For the older generation though. But of course say that name now and all the younger kids laugh.

I wonder how that nickname came about...where is Paul when you need him! Surely he'd know!

So is what the cruise guy told us correct about Big Ben?? There were 2 bothers one named Ben and Richard and they would not call it Big Dick???;-) so they called it the other brother Big Ben???
