It was so nice to see her and she brought me up to speed on the lives of two other friends I had lost contact with as well. In the past eight years all three of my old friends have gotten married, had babies, and have gone back to school to continue their educations. In the past eight years my life looks just the same. Nothing has changed. For a moment I literally felt a sort of "panic". Like my life is just slipping by and I have nothing to show for it. I even experienced a moment of "shame". What will I say when we all get together again for the first time and I have nothing to share? Gulp! Have any of you ever experienced that feeling? |

Nothing has changed for me in the last 5 years. Still single, same job, same home, same clothes sometimes!! I've had no vacation in 14 years. Haven't been out of the country. Haven't been off the east coast! No going back to school, nothing. And I am afraid by the time I get the chance to do these things, I'll be too old to enjoy them. I want to hike, and camp and kayak, and ski, and ride and travel...and so on! And it's finanical, and bad timing! Just not in the right spot in my life to do these things and my fear is that I may never. |

You are right of course, about how we touch each other's lives. I think of all my POE friends every day, even when I am not able to get onto a computer. I can't imagine my life without all of my friends here. Yet, it's hard not to compare yourself to others who seem to have it all together and are doing something with their lives. |

We are each created by God .different.We are not to compare ourselves to each other, but to shine our own light.I do understand though,Some people who seem to have it all together are usually the ones who are putting on a show and we hear about them in the news later. Know what i mean ? |
