We get issued with notice of intent to procecute forms when we trip speed cameras on 999's, sometimes! just depends how they're feeling i think. This gets sent to our HQ, then its sent to our station, then has to go through my manager, then to me, to be filled in, then back to manager to HQ back to police ..... as you can see a LOT of paperwork, formfilling and admin costs!!! a complete waste of taxpayers money, non money generating, all it does is waste money, from services we keep hearing are continually been cut due to lack of money!! The authorities involved are well aware its a 999 we are responding to, the camera picks it up, and all jobs are logged with control. So do i make a stand? I kind of already have, but have now signed the documents involved, but next time i may not! i've been threatened that if i don't i will have points on my license and a fine!!! but how ??? no offence has been committed? we have an exemption!! no law broken! so really if it goes to court what can they do me for? |

Have your say and let the chips fall where they may!!! And maybe in making a stand will you allow the powers that be see something that they are missing....like....it's CRAZY for anyone in emergency services to be ticketed while on their way to a job!!! UNLESS...it is in an area that they speed should be taken into consideration!! Do it Jason! Nothing will ever change if people don't fight for their rights!

The police have a similar problem, but only have to log with their control when they trip a camera, and the admin is left to their admin dept, so i'm told. What seems to be happening now, is crews are taking their time getting to jobs, to prevent the fear of fines etc.... hence, the patient waits longer for a motor!! i don't do this yet, i have a concience, but it'll come to it sooner or later! |

You have one hour for your patient to get the best care, for the best recovery. Anything after that the chances for the patient are drastically reduced?? If so, then WHY on earth would this be an issue??? You are all professional drivers, are you not? So saftey should not be such a concern!!! What ever happened to patient rights and welfare!!! Blow those lights Jason!!! |

And yes we are professional drivers, we've all done long driving courses. |

Trouble is, how many would sign whilst not requiring your services? A concerted, continual 'chivy up' would see a petiton survive, gain momentum for you guys upon who most of us depend in times of emergency and for whom we are very grateful. Anna and I support your cause, so two signatures already! Over to you... |

In the last ten years,I have been rushed to hospital under blues and two's nine times. If it wasnt for the expert driving and medical knowledge of our paramedics I wouldnt be here to sign a petition. |
