And from what i've gathered even the ones that don't celebrate Christmas don't want it changed! Although Christmas is a bit of a mongrel celebration (taking bits from a few seperate celebrations) I think the overiding celebration is the birth of Christ (even though he wasn't supposed to have been born this time of year! ) i think it would be a shame to see it changed. |

What will there answer be, do you think? Will they say, 'It's a Christian holiday to celebrate the birth of Christ'. I don't think so! They will say 'It's in December, and we gets to eat, drink, and be merry, giving gifts and getting gifts'. For many nowadays, they do not even think about what the word CHRISTmas. They would probably be shocked and think, oh yeah, I get it now. So leave it alone, you stupid goverment people. |

Christmas is about unconditional love and sharing it. They can take away the Holiday but they can't take it from your heart. The spirit of Christmas can still be strong!! |

Notice it's only the Christian holidays that they want to change. Why can't we change the name of Ramadan or eliminate it altogether? It offends me. Oh, yeah, that's right - I'm a Christian, it's okay to offend me and stomp on my beliefs. I noticed last Christmas at my office, during the secretarial services "holiday" luncheon meeting, our manager told us that she (as a member of management) was not allowed to use the word Christmas to describe the season or our celebrations. She was limited to using the word holiday. But no such rule for the staff. So I make a point of wishing everyone a Merry Christmas or Happy Christmas, no matter what! My way of rebelling I guess. I'm just waiting for the unfortunate person who tells me I can't say that word in the office anymore. |

Attacking Christianity seems to be the last acceptable prejudice. They can change it if they want but they can't make me stop saying "Merry Christmas"! |

But i've said this before, if your racist and want to start an anti muslim riot, the best way to do it is pretend that muslims have asked to ban Christmas! even if they haven't many will believe it, and it'll cause a LOT of hatred! just a theory...... |

Maybe its just someones idea of a joke, to wind everyone up!! and it sure works! |
