I hang greens & Red streamers from the ceiling, with balloons in the corners and centre of the room. I love Father Christmas , the old fashioned one, so I have cute little things around . We don't have room for a normal sized tree any more, but have a cut e little one . I love coloured lights. I like to take my glasses off and it makes the lights twinkle so wonderfully (something positive about bad eyesight) . Oh, and I love Christmas cards with English Robins. I love Christmas! |

It is nice to see them in full bloom along the beaches ...... they are a large coastal tree with dark green foliage, crimson and gold flowers, and masses of aerial roots. There's a few pictures of the Pohutukawa in my backyard. I've been growing orchids for a number of years ... we have a perfect climate for cymbidiums and dendrobiums grown outdoors all year round. Kowhai generally flower before Christmas time when Pohutukawa and Rata flower. Kowhai are more of a national symbol, like the Silver Fern the All Blacks wear, or Kiwi. (I mean the bird, not the Chinese Gooseberry ... Kiwifruit ... marketed as Zespri) |
