Of coursew these days there is another medicine I take when I feel low.I log on to POE and believe it or not I feel completely better in about half an hour!Three cheers for this wonderful site!! |
Shirley K. Lawson Posts: 2310 Joined: 17th Jul 2008 Location: USA | Posted at 06:54 on 4th January 2010 Hi there, I just am returning from reading an 508 page novel, Dan Brown's latest "Lost Symbols"..though it's fiction I was kind of hoping that it would give me more insight on the early days on the Masonic Lodge...besides the symbology tour of Washington D. C.... which I've been to many times already...mostly for research work... National Archives. I think I've told you before two close relatives, prior to their passing, were very high in the organization in California. World travelers during their life, they were just plain interesting people to know. They certainly had all the mysticism spoken of the organization in this book though. I remeber one time I thought, I wonder why this lady has an small tv set, she had anything else at the snap of her fingers supplied to her...and I mentioned to her..if she watched Tv much, as I knew she traveled an lot. She said, well, the news... sometimes. Then she said to me,.. Why would an person want to see the daily news if they can be an part of it, Shirley?.. I got her point on that one. Just kind of let things rest an bit. She's lucky... for me at my age then, they would of most likely been wild "hippy" days...you know purple wig and boots and animal leotards with black leather vest over an "peace" T-shirt...laughs. I wish I could be more postive I'm not sure if an "whomever"... trying to be "me" just didn't clean out another of my regular daily web sites I visit, besides my two mail servers recently. I'll know tomarrow, if they were changing over to January posts (which I hope) or someone attacked me. I also have no idea what this is all about as it started years ago...literally....years and years ago. Then again my kidney/liver cleanse ran into my daughter in-law's qutting to smoke last night...I thought maybe she was suffering from PMS or something...but it all came to an a head last night...with my son in the middle... In front of her sister which probably just tickled the "H" out of her. This gal whom steals...and sets others up to get into trouble,..and comes out smellling like an rose. The cause of $4,600 of lost funds to us, by her manipulations (every family has one you know) ...but I guess I should save it for an soap box opera some day. I did find the book fascinating to read, it has scarey parts in it, sad ones also, and quite an "thriller"..characters are fictional, the rest of it isn't.. Some things I knew, some I didn't. You all sound like your all geared up for an New Year and on the right path...one of being postive no matter what. Took down an lot of Christmas stuff Saturday ..so I was tired that night also when everyone came bouncing through the door from "playing".. up at Mt. Hood (all 10 of them) ...in the snow...well, my hubby was here also this last weekend, both days working on the Scout tree recycling at an local shopping mall. They got an lot of snow flocked trees over the weekend which surprised me, because they have to be handled separately and done differently then normal recycled Christmas Trees, cause of the chemicals in the flocking...we haven't had many of them in the years past. I know it use to cost them more to handle them then the other trees...depends perhaps on where they unloaded them at and for what purpose...maybe by now they figured out an different way to "flock" them also, An nice thought. So anyway, my upstairs is pretty much ready for Valentines' Day this year. I like to think ahead. I will be working on the downstairs tomarrow and then it get all put away for next year in the attic....busy busy as they say. Did any of you listen to Art Bell's anuual "prediction" show on "coast to coast am", as is aired world-wide..the biggest talk on the air waves. One of the listener's called in and said that an "celebrity" this year would be caught and would tell they had been eating "human flesh" for sometime now in some kind of an "rituaL''...liked to grossed me out.Goes back to stealing others people "Power" as they call it. Of the over 100 predictions, it had to been the most bizzarre one. Rest were your ussual ones, of earth related calamity and finding something new or some kind of cheating another...scoundrel incident. Sorry I am so talkative tonight, but I havent' been in to much lately. I guess I should go back and find Lord Alfred, but I read the Cromwell series backwards in two of the books, having recently found this one I have been reading.. so I know how he ends up and.he saves Britain from the Vikings. Actually had it not been for him, there would be no "England" today. It's quite an story also. |

Thank you Rita for your kind words and good wishes. It is lovely to have you back here. Found out yesterday that Joseph starts back at school today - that was a shock! Thank goodness for social networking - without it he would have been absent today! Terry went to work at 6am - hoping he copes with the heavy work. Hope everyone is getting back to normal after the holidays. |
Ron Brind Posts: 19041 Joined: 26th Oct 2003 Location: England | Posted at 08:49 on 4th January 2010 Dan Brown's latest "Lost Symbols" Shirley. Hmmmn, not totally convinced! Prediction: Osama bin Laden will be found (dead or alive) during the month of September. I predicted this last year (September also) and although it didn't happen, I feel strongly that I have seen the result of the worldwide search during strange sleep patterns. We shall see, anybody else got any predictions, I will start another thread for your answers. |
