Stephanie,.. first house I moved from I wrapped everything carefully , each item , and I cleaned out and washed down the freezer and packed all the food and I was just busy to boot moving. Second house I moved from, I wrapped up the dishes, took the food out from the freezer, shut the door, and we left....third house I moved from...I stacked the dishes, and took out the quick to thaw items and put them in ice....next house we moved from, I never took the dishes out of the box the last time, so they just moved them, and looked inside the freezer, saw nothing breakable, shut the door and locked it, and said, "it's ready guys!" We lived in four houses in five years before we got here and we have lived here some 32 years. By the time we got here, the freezer was set inside the garage door and its been there ever since. The dishes I didn't use everyday are still in boxes in the attic. I know, I'm not to swift when it coimes to moving. I was holding down jobs when I was moving all that time also, and my time was really "limited". Only nice thing about it all is finding stuff you had forgotten you even had. Good luck, it can be an chore some times. |

I'm a bit late today due to a heavy thunderstorm when all the electrical stuff gets turned off! Think it is over now and very happy to get the rain (and a bit of coolth!). Hope Cathy E your daughter is improving and your mother too. Stephanie I do hope your mother is in less pain and your move is proceeding well, and Terry is comfortable being back at work. I am sure you are making the most of what time you have left with your son Sue and enjoying having him around. Don't let his going away spoil your last couple of days with him (although as a Mother how can you not worry about them leaving?) All best wishes to everyone on POE |

Terry managed his first day back at work OK. George - my sister will back up your theory of a (full) hernia op being as painful as childbirth - she had her hernia op a few weeks before Terry and she said she the pain was unbelieveable (and she had two really bad births - my eldest nephew was breach!) Cathy - prayers for Elsie. Shame she couldn't enjoy her 18th - Happy Birthday to her anyway. I am in a total panic - what to do first - trying to do my work, sort this house out, organise the new house (loft clearing - we have filled the garage with the damaged loft insulation, loft boarding, boiler and heating or otherwise no hot water or heat, electrics as only a few lights work, painting, flooring in my new office, new shed - the list goes on.....!) Won't be around much but I am trying to check in anyway. With the family bereavement Ron, Anna, Chris and Sarah need all the help they can get with the moderating. Thinking of you all.

You really are a great bunch of people, thank you. Yes, the last week or so has been difficult and busy, but hopefully we can now get back to as near 'normal' as we can under the circumstances. Obviously there are tough times for Betty's husband Donald, the girls and son Paul who came over from France to attend the funeral. Haven't been able to read through all the posts yet, but hope everybody is coping whatever their problems might be. |
