Like for instance, the drain plugged up and how do you explain its such an "good day" when your looking kind of silly as this "snake" thing they use in drains popped loose on you and it wrapped around your feet. Enough to scare the wits out of any house wife. Or how do you have "three things on your mind" to tell other people when for the most part they may be obscene...you want to "grin an bare" it. I guess the doctor at "Urgent Care" knew what he was doing, I'm getting over my cold, the near parayllis with the strained muscle from coughing went away...had some VERY interesitng dreams on the coedine though...hee hee... and I'm working on the high blood pressure an bit....as I work on the kitchen re-arranging it... actually I'm changing it from brown, orange/green to gray/white/ black and silver..with black small appliances and white big appliances, and gourmet spice containers and an picture of an French Bistro Cafe scene and wine bottles. Using silver wire racks that have drawers that pull out for some of the food. Up scale look if I ever get it finished. Things are kind of dying down since the funeral for the brother in-law , except for the dude with the blue pirus in California "stuck" at going 94 MPH, police got in front of his car and they slowed it down for him with their bumpers....I do keep though thinking how hard many of us in my generation have been put through in working over the years, for seemingly so little at times these days. I guess in youth you accumulate so much as you age, so you can give it away...later on...including yoru children in getting married. Mid-march...snow levels drop this week, they need the snow up at Mt. Hood for this season hasn't had enough, rather this afffects us down here on lower elevations is yet to be seen, but they don't think it will. Seems like any more there has to be an missing hiker or climber for it to snow also. Getting to be old hat now in ways. Been listening to an lot of "Coast to coast" lately at night having to do with UFO's...ok..let's be more specfic...the "Pheonix Lights" and close encounters of the third kind...that's when I'm bot snoring through the night from the coedine. Daugther in-law is off work for an week also, she slid on some newspapers down the stairs, and did her knee in...as she landed on it...she's wrapped and on crutches. She needed the rest I guess. My stomach tonight is singing out loudly for some reason..it was most likely the "scaring to death" of me as that drainage "snake" coiled around me as I was cornered in the bathroom. Hubby went out an brought back in an longer one, as I didn't have enough length to this thing I have. Things look drained, no, on second thought they aren't...as of yet anyway. Everything is in bloom around here, azealas, bulbs, blooming trees, bushes, camila's, dafoldils...so I hope not to much snow close down in the valley area. With that I go for now in my "chit chat". I know, I don't live an very exciting life these days do I...for right now, its just fine with me. Been an lot of big world events this last couple of months also. Catch you all later on...and good to see the "regulars" around...welcome to the "newbies" also. |

I am trying to imagine that drainage snake - thinking about your daughter-in-law, know from experience how painful doing your knee in is! As for me I bought a house yesterday & got the keys! Lots to do - got to get gas, electric, water & phone on as well as generally clearing it out. The bank were supposed to do that but it was full of rubbish & yet more settees so we have two lots to get rid of now - the ones here and the ones there as Moms buying us a new one for a moving present! We also got carpets some curtains and blinds. We lifted the underlay in the hall and found the most magnificent parkay mosaic floor - that was such a great find! We still have this house and we are moving to the new one at the end of the month. Will try to rent this out now - or sell it if we can. My Mom's operation to have a new shoulder was successful although we can't go and visit as the hospital have stopped all visitors (incuding my step father) because of viruses. I hope she manages to get out of there without a virus. She is stopping in a few days. Also yesterday I found out my cousin & his wife are expecting a baby - it was definitely a big news day!

Stephanie - At last things are coming right for you and all at once - sometimes its strange how life seems to be all or nothing! As for me - my life is the same old, same old thing! I quite like boring now, in fact I quite cherish it - too much excitement in the past ! |

Good news about your Mom's shoulder. A new baby must be exiting news for your entire fam! Cathy: Embrace the quiet and boring; it doesn't take much to turn things to go sideways. As for me, just got back from vacation a couple of weeks ago. Traded a week of cold in New England for a week of warmth and sun in the Caribbean. The boat is in the process of being painted; it should be out of the shop in a couple of weeks and then launched not long after. Looking forward to the upcoming sailing season. The better half is going in for left rotator cuff surgery the beginning of April. After she recovers from that, she goes in for the right one. Other than that, not much going on here. |

I still have ny huby's necies wedding and have to check up on my recently widowed sister in-law. Good ot hear your mother's operation went well. BOB!....How good to hear from you. Question, I'm hearing that people are picking up compass readings here lately 30 degrees westward as to "true" north ...you know anything about that, they think the recent big quakes were caused from it. They said that Haiti moved 10 feet toward the west from their recent earthquake. Cathryn,.... I go at housework like "i love Lucy" Tv shows somedays. I mean you never really qutie know how things are going to end up...but I do try to help out around the house when I can. That's why I watch home and garden TV channel and I make "notes" ...like need an quick curtain valance..use table place mats and tape them together on the back side and across an flat long curtain rod, they look particularly well over the newer in-expenisve blinds for windows...cost little and are easily changed. Make your own 12 by 12 wood floor tiles, use an nice plywood, then stain them and them "wash" them with an dark or light color, and lay then down like tile (turn every other one) and then use an heavy coat of sealer over it all. I've seen an kitchen floor stained dark and washed with Navy blue, and one where they used cherry wood stain and washed over it with black. Don't forget the primer on the freshly cut plywood tiles...so your paint stains evenly. Big thing over here right now is using the blue painters tape,..painting in different shades, making different widths and interesting wall patterns with paints. Japanese are now making thier pantry into the kitchen floor..they use an heavy slide panel they can lift up and when placed down it fits even with the rest of the flooring. It allows between the rafters quite an bit of stoarge space for basics to be stored in containers...or things like cooking oil and such in bottles.canned goods..syrup..flour/salt/sugar in containers with good fitting lids. Just some of the ideas they have out these days. |

Great to see you Bob - thanks for your good wishes. Hope the boat prep goes well! They are definitely better neighbours Shirley - it's just round the corner from my childhood home so I feel like I belong there. Don't forget - bills for two houses not one! We still haven't sold or rented this! We are fine though - the one thing I am really good at is budgeting! We have been lucky enough that the carpets were left & they are quite new so we only need to do the stairs and the office. I had the day off yesterday and we got loads done and the plumber and the electrician have been to price up. Mom has recovered really well and they have told my stepfather that she can probably come home today!

My old administrator did such while having an new house built one time for himself and family..he rented an house on an 6 month basis..and if he had any problems with the house he was building he thought of buying the one he rented. The caliber of people and the price they got renting it to him was more substantial then the average citizen renter. But, if you didn't live an in very good neighborhood, it might not go over very well. These people want clean, decent areas...and secure and safe ones at that. Most companies are willing to pay half the moving and house rental costs to CEO types for this kind of an advantage in having to move from one area to another...at least over here. It's one of their tax return incentives. Usually they are required to go through an real estate company to get access to this type of an house also. |
