I thought it might be fun to name an American word and it's British equivalent. A couple of my favorites are:

Pacifier = Dummy (In American a dummy is, well, an idiot. Lol)

Vacation = Holiday (In America Holiday usually refers to Christmas, Easter, etc)

cell phone=mobile phone

nail polish=nail varnish

Bin bags (trash bags)

Fag (cigarette)

Whilst (while)

Boot (car trunk)

Windscreen (windshield)

Bonnet (car hood)

Spelt (spelled)

Pinch or nick (steal)

Pillock (idiot)

Gob (mouth)

Jumper (sweater)

Push chair = Stroller

Garden = Yard

Bonnet = Hood

Boot = Trunk

Randy = Excited in a, well you know what kind of way ;)

Lorry = Truck

Vest = Undershirt  

Braces = Suspenders

Suspenders = Attached to a woman's garter

Trousers = Pants

Serviette = Napkins

Napkins = Ladies stuff ;)

sidewalk = pavement

bus = coach

arugula = rocket

zucchini = courgette

dress = frock

pantyhose/stockings = tights
