Just had a nice few days away with the hubby. Thursday is our meeting anniversary, 26 years. We headed up to the big city for a decent meal (five hour drive to go to a restaurant), and hubby got himself a lovely new suit.

Went to my second belly dance class tonight, it seems that I take to it naturally, makes me wonder who my parents were and where they might have come from.

Work tomorrow.

Hi everybody!! Hope you are having a splendid day!

So glad you are enjoying your classes Sue! That's a great exercise to get weight off! I'm afraid if I did it someone would get knocked over!!! LOL Glad you had a lovely time in the big city!

Thanks Urmi! My happiest memories were right before he passed away. One day he told me he realized just how deeply I loved him. That made me so happy. And another day when visiting him in the nursing home I sat in his chair with him, my arm wrapped around him and his around me and we leaned our heads together. We didn't have to say anything. The love was so strong and well understood by each of us.

My dad used to tell us to never leave the house without giving hugs and kisses and telling each other you love each other because you never knew what life could bring. You don't know if it will be the last time you see each other. I have never forgotten that and do as he suggested.

I am so glad you have that kind of relationship with your dad Urmi. Treasure it always.

Good day everyone, well the "moving" has started...they are packing now. Time does go fast...you have to over-look an lot of things in life and keep "life" going. It looks like I'm getting an appointment to go in an see about collecting Social Security here soon. See what happens there. Last I heard it was not enough to cover the property taxes of where I live, plus my medications an month...let alone anything else. Let's hope its better then that in ways...but I guess anything is better then nothing. Strange times we live in... where you can work most your life... and have nothing for it in the end...more or less. Kids these days can't seem to help either...they struggle to survive also.  I remember when houses were passed down from generation to generation, kids lived there and took care of their parents in old age...of course, there is an bit of an difference when songs like "Magic Carpet Ride" was in your prime...and your in advanced age.  My son always said it sounded not so "motherly" let alone grandmotherish..but such are the times.  I'm leaving if he makes me to do the "hokey pokey" dance  for entertainment...or the "Bunny Hop" so as to say. I always respected my dad's wishes in not catering to him to much,  to where he became unable to help himself...he said thats the fastest way to old age is having someone do everything for you...but gosh it can be nice some days. I guess he felt because people seldom do for others what they "want" done, but for what "needs" done. So while he was on vacation one year sister and I went down there to help spring clean it, and feed his cat...and that was the last time we got the keys to the house...he wanted the walls and windows oozing down with cigarette smoke I guess. Why I'll never understand. They went to his neighbor from then on across the street.  Never made any sense in that. I wonder if he understands the "harm" he was doing and just didn't care or didn't acknowledge it.  Do you people think that there is an chance we will ever recover from the Gulf Oil Spill, have you heard much about it? Some claim that it has the potential to be never-ending, to put the world on fire, and of course, it's killing all the wildlife in it and around it. I heard an radio host last night say, that is is as if "mother" earth was hemmoraging near her heart. I thought we had things to stop those kinds of problems these days. If it goes on indefeinately....it could be on your own door step someday in England.  Let's hope not...let's hope it stops on its own here soon. In the meantime, other things take my attention that need to be done around here also. So I better "get to it" as they say.  Enjoy life while you can.  Have an good day.  Help those that you can...if they want it.
