Hi Cathy:

I have a 4-day weekend beginning tomorrow.  Nov. 11 - Remembrance Day, Armistice Day, we call it Veterans Day over here. It's a paid holiday where I work.

How bout you?

Sadly no Ruth.  I haven't even seen any poppies or poppy sellers or heard anything much about it here at all.  And the South Africans, both black and white, fought in both World Wars.  But maybe that's because I am well away from the main stream here in our little village!

Morning/afternoon all...

We think Anna's Dad may come home today, not sorted by any standard and plenty of tests to run yet.

Anna continues to make good progress.

Thank you for caring dear friends, hope you all have a good day.

to my mum, who would have been 99 years old today, had she still been alive.

She was born 11/11/11. She said at 11 minutes past 11, but I think that might be a bit made up. (I guess someone had to be born at that time).

Anyway, we are celebrating mum's birthday with one of her favourite meals. Stew and dumplings, followed by apple pie and cream.

I wish I could make an apple pie like mums, they were beyond perfection.

Happy birthday to Sue's "mom" what an number to deal with for an birthday. Glad to hear Anna's on tne mend also and her dad's doing ok so far. My daughter in-law's about as angery as the wicked witch of the west right now, don't look at her... she may zap you dead in your tracks...not much I can do...she found out when they gave her the partciall hysterecomy...they punched an hole in her bladder...so the surgery for the cyst turned out more indepth....they put in an stent to strengthen the bladder wall...and possibly one in where her tubes are at also, cleaned things up considerably insider her also...as the bladder hole had clotted an black spot on its own...but she's still hurting and has until the end of the weekend before returning to work again. I was just talking to my sister in-law on her daughter...she was suppose to have throat surgery and they couldn't find the scare tissue in her throat to do it on... when they got ready for doing it....so they are looking to more testing to be done here I guess after she gets back home.  This kind of ruins Christmas around here...and I told my sister in-law a bit ago..don't have surgery at Providence Hospital..everyone in the last 10 years I know has been coming up with blotched up operations or death. They have let things gone to thier head and are doing things like novices and "band-aide" small rural country doctors then educated professionals with skill. But all the docotors to some extent are doing things this way these days...they have no one to answer to for their mistakes. They are out for the money..and all they can get and need stopped and made accountable for thier services. Obama seems to refuse to do it.

.I kept my one grandson last night...and two dogs today for her..and told her I'd be out later on an check on her but hubby has the charter papers now so he's got to go to roundtable tonight. My grandson was  quietly kind of crying when he got home, I kept asking him what's the matter,,,but she said he said he was tired. I can't imagine why. I asked him if it was he didn't want to go home right now or what...he didnt' say. Maybe he was worried about his mother..as I noticed he went in an kissed her first thing. I don't know quite what to do to save this year's Holiday's...but something sure does need to change for the better around here. I can just "sense" it.
