We enjoy Christmas Day and then refer to where we will be on Boxing Day - but where does the term Boxing Day originate? One for our Paul maybe? Lol

Going back into the dim & distant past the villagers/estate workers/etc., were given a Christmas box by the "Lord of the manor" or similar personages (I think it often contained coinage) on the day after Christmas - hence Boxing Day!  Am I close James????

it is an old tradition to place gifts in a box or case and share them with the poor on the 26th hence the saying "boxing day"
