They do take hold of you! Cathy(E) and Krissy: Both of your cats are beautiful. I'd probably have one if I weren't so terribly allergic to them. Krissy, Gracie's the same way about heat as she lays as close to the fireplace as possible and bakes! My son and his wife have two cats (Tupac and Luigi), which makes visits to their house a bit miserable for me (hmmmm--maybe they're trying to send me a message). Gracie is easily the best dog we've owned (two male miniature schnauzers before her). She is very smart--sometimes too smart for her own good!--and she greets everyone, even strangers, as if they were her best friend. I keep a very close eye on her outside and always have her on a leash since we have coyotes in the area and being the opportunists that they are, they sometimes attack and kill small dogs in the region. Gracie would certainly hold her ground, but as small as she is, it would be no contest. She also has a weakness for charging after squirrels in our yard, one habit that we haven't had much luck breaking--its probably the terrier in her. |

I only discovered this after my daughter was married and they had 8 cats. The first time we were able to visit her I came away looking a really sorry sight! |

My allergies were rapid onset when I was 25--one week I was fine with cats and the next week I was horribly allergic. I am less allergic now than I was earlier in my life. Though I still suffer from allergic asthma when I am around cats, it is not quite so severe and my eyes no longer swell shut! |

I probably wouldn't make it in your front door before I was sitting on the floor petting her. I love dogs and cats so much. I am allergic to cats too but not as severe as you. My eyes always look like I have been crying all day. They are always red, burning, itching. I think Katie licking my eyelids to wake me in the morning doesn't help much! Cathy, Wow 8 cats!! I used to cat sit for a friend who had 9 cats. I even remembered all their names!! The most I ever had was six which I think was just enough. But boy would I love a dog. I have always wanted a black lab and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. They are both such people lovers and I think both would get along with the cats very well. I shall now put up Katie's picture. She is Rascal's sister and such a princess! A very lady like little girl. She is so sweet and loves to be right with me. She is usually laying right here on the desk while I am here on the computer. Otherwise she sleeps in bed with me. She is so dainty you can't even hear when she meows. You only see the mouth move and no sound!! But her purr can be quite loud. She does love to have her tummy rubbed. She is just so precious. |

Also, once you sit down, she will, with permission of course, immediately hop up on your lap and wait for you to scratch her on the head, on the neck and behind her ears (she's just a bitty little thing)--if dogs could purr, she would at that stage! I have to say that you've got two great looking cats--very regal! Dogs are fun, but they are a bit more high maintenance. |
