Rob...what breed is Gracie!? She's beautiful! I actually used the blow dryer on Alistiar this morning. He was in 7th heaven!!!

We just lost our Maggie right after Thanksgiving. :( She was nearly 14. I still miss stepping over in the living room.

Gracie is half miniature poodle and half Yorkshire terrier. And she changes colors. She was born with mainly brown-black hair (nor fur) like a Yorkie. Now, she is generally the color of a cocker spaniel, but sometimes her coat takes on a very reddish cast and sometimes she almost appears white--weird.

Sorry to hear about your Maggie--losing a pet can really be devastating! You keep expecting to see them in their old haunts.

Cathy E--I can tell you that you would not get past the threshold of our entryway without having to satisfy Gracie's need for petting--she generally rolls on her back for a tummy rub! Also, once you sit down, she will, with permission of course, immediately hop up on your lap and wait for you to scratch her on the head, on the neck and behind her ears (she's just a bitty little thing)--if dogs could purr, she would at that stage!

I have to say that you've got two great looking cats--very regal! Dogs are fun, but they are a bit more high maintenance.

Hi Rob, You are so right. I'd be sat there loving Gracie. I'm sure I would have her purring!! I'm like that with all pets. I used to carry treats around with me in my pockets when I went for a walk. Thank you for the compliment of my cats. They are just like my children. They act like it too.

My third cat is Cuddles. Unlike Katie and Rascal's slender and petite builds, Cuddles is 16 lbs. and has huge paws! He is so much fun. A really smart cat he is. Likes to play hide and seek with me where we end up chasing each other through the house. Sometimes he will do an about face and catch me!! lol He is very vocal with us and likes to follow us around. When I am working in the kitchen he likes to roll back and forth on the floor and sing to me. He also likes to play soccer on the kitchen floor. Because his paws are so furry he sometimes slides right into the patio glass door while chasing his ball. I have trained him so that if he wants his Greenies treats he has to get combed first. He will come find me when ready and have me follow him to the couch to comb him. He will stop every so many feet and look back to make sure I am still following him!

I'll never understand how anyone can say that animals do not have a soul. They each have their own personality that is uniquely their own with the ability to have real emotions and the capability to love their families so much so that they protect them at all costs. How can anyone look into those beautiful little faces and not believe this? I am so very thankful to have the cats I do and their love of me.

Krissy, Jason, Cathy - your pets are all so adorable. I wish you all many happy and healthy years together. You too Rob!

As you all know I'm not a cat lover, mind you I could be softened up a little if they did their business in their own garden instead of mine! Lol

However, I'm really glad that you folks find such comfort from your own pets.

Krissy, I'm so sorry to hear about Maggie.  That's the down side of having pets.  But they're worth it in the long run.

Sorry I missed seeing all your pets in your avatars.
