It was meant to be! Even through all the obstacles! You just knew it, right Rob?  Did Shirley feel the same too at the beginning?

I don't know, maybe we were lovers in a former life--not that I'm a believer in reincarnation! Its just that I felt like I already knew her. Strange, I know. And yes, she felt the same way at the time and still does. Its been a lovely life together--we still mostly spend time with each other rather than with other couples and friends!

Again, that is the kind of relationship every woman is looking for. That kind of bond is so special. :-)

Which begs the question, Rob, why do you think most (not all) men shy away from this type of intimacy?

How does this one strike you then, Diana? He's blonde and blue eyed and quite pretty.

Sue, I adored him in "Man from U.N.C.L.E." back in the day, and I still adore him!  He's in his 70's but certainly doesn't look it, in my opinion.  I've been watching him in "NCIS" where he plays the medical examiner "Ducky" (Dr. Mallard) for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.  Great show.

Because I don't think intimacy is fostered or encouraged enough in young males--so many men are products of a culture that encourages quick sexual conquest and discourages meaningful relationships. Just my take.

Interesting to have a man's take on the issue. I think you are on to something there.

I think it's a shame that young women today also feel that sexual promiscuity is just a game. Many figure they'll have their fun and settle down later, only to find that when that time comes neither they nor the men in their lives know how to foster the kind of intimacy you share with your wife.
