What a gutsy lady!  Surprise attacks are always the best, lol.  Hope they give her a medal. Pity it didn't motivate others to join in sooner though.

Good for her!  Some people just aren't afraid to get involved.  She's a gutsy lady and I applaud her.

As for the crooks - did they really think they could get away with that in broad daylight?  They belong on the the World's Stupidest Criminals TV Show.

Had it not been for the old Granny I think the crooks had a very good chance of getting away with it Ruth, because who else tried to stop them?   The thick security shutters were up during the day time making it easier to smash the windows.  It would have been a lot more difficult at night with the shutters down.

fantastic! I had a tear in my eye when I saw this on the TV news. the old lady actually ran up the street to challenge half a dozen robbers on bikes! great that other members of the public had a go too and the guy in the white van. I notice the Police Street warden in uniform and yellow jacket was slow to get involved, but top marks to the Granny, I believe she doesnt want to be identified and says shes not an hero. That my dear friends and young people of today, is how our older generation won he war against us, Guts!Smile

OK - Julie.  As a granny I think your idea might just work - number 1 what have we to lose and number 2 we just wouldn't put up with their nonsense. LolLaughing
