Since I never drink soda (in our neck of the woods, we call it "pop"), diet or otherwise, I have avoided the greatest source of aspertame intake for most people. Monsanto is a company that long ago lost it's corporate soul, I'm afraid. The only sweetener that I have used for decades is honey (my faves are buckwheat and sourwood--both pretty potent and a little of either of these types of honey goes a long way). |

First of all, Krissy, your avatar is absolutely gorgeous! Join E-Harmony with that photo and you'll have dates knocking down your door! Now, back to the subject at hand. I have advocated a low carb (equals little or no sugar of any kind in your diet). I lost 50 lbs in 6 months, and never had a better health report from my doctor. Over the past year I have gone off my low carb diet and gained back several pounds :-( Having said that, I know I can drop it off in a couple of months. All I need to do is to jump back on my low carb diet. |

They maintin salt in to much of what we drink...the includes wines.. and eat these days as it is. You can get around this thing easy these days if it's an sugar crave you have...take it out in carrots/sweet potatoes/pineapple/frozen grapes(yep..an old time summer WW suggestion for an snack..about 12 of them at one time), cherry tomaotes, lemons..most any fresh fruit that is an berry/melon. Like for instance the littl kabobs weight watchers taught me to make many years ago, you alternate pineapple chunks, green peppers, and cherry tomaotes..or else purple seedless grapes. For the first kabob you can also grill if you'd like to use it as an accompanint to your dinner. But "meat" is something I'm finding out more an more to just skip it these days. You have to be careful with the salt in an lot of processed soups also. I realized in Weight watchers how true it is to place more importance on getting back on diet..then it is dwelling over having recently cheated....something an freind told me an long time ago as we discussed how she stayed thin...she said her eating was an up down thing that she had to control from time to time to maintain her weight..life was not blissfully constantly being thin of its own. Winter time around here is very hard in getting excerise also, and I have now twice beaten down my feet to near stage of being pulverized into disabilty trying to keep up with things. But this is something I need to get back to also...with no stove to bake anything and lousy budget these days I just have not had the sweets over this winter I did in the past. Doesn't mean I'm any thinner though for it. I honestly don't think my mentabolsim is working these days...and I still maintain there's an medical reason to why my HDL levels when we made an "concentrated effort" to bring them up...failed to do so. Last year I found my body in an extreme case of being off in PH balance that I worked on most the summer last year. I felt that alone made an drastic difference in my health. How many of you ever read on the side of an asprin bottle...warning: do not take more then 3 tablets in an 24 hour period and consume alchohol. It is in very little tiny print....I assume why the doctors push "Tylenol" instead..until they came out with " low dose" aspirin. Let's face it...I think our master is calling us back to his natural way of living if we want to survive. |

You really do need to be read this Whilst shopping in an ASDA supermarket yesterday we purchased several bottles of 'Diet Cola - Caffeine free' with a label thats states clearly 'Improved Recipe'. Basically the previous label read 'No Aspartame' which is why we bought it.....BUT the new product, okay no Aspartame but it does contain Acesulfame- K which if you believe the information at the following link, is according to the book 'Safe Food' by Michael F. Jacobson Ph.D, Lisa Lefferts and Anne Garland WORSE THAN ASPARTAME Click on the following link and see what you make of it. http://www.holisticmed.com/acek/ There is of course a simple answer to force manufacturers to make change, and that is to STOP BUYING IT We won't be buying your 'Improved Recipe' Caffeine Free Diet Cola again ASDA!
