It's also called feminine logic.......and my wife possesses loads of it

Thinking on with the size that some of the files will be you would probably be better off using DVD's they hold 4.7 GB as opposed to the 700MB of a CD. the other option costs a bit more but you could get an 'external hard drive' in various capacities 320 gb 500 gb 750 gb and cost anywhere from £40 or so upwards and simply plug in with usb. I find them invaluable

Copy all my photos that are already on pc to DVD now, just incase anything horrible goes wrong with the computer.

and will be getting the scanner down from the loft to give it a try tonight with the old photo's, if not will have a go with James' method.

Let you know how I get on

Karen Windows 7 comes with Windows Live Photo Gallery so once you have scanned your pics you can adjust brightness, contrast, shadows, highlights, colour, straighten them, crop them, and remove blemishes!  I've done that with some that I have scanned and it seems to work well - brings the brightness back, especially when they have been stored in shoe boxes!!

My hobbies are Photography (funny that) and aeroplanes. I take a lot of plane pictures and it's only recently I've gone back to "Normal" pictures!

I like walking too but my body is starting to reject me for doing that!
