Not the right thread for Poetry but Ruth posted the following a little while ago! That reminds me where is Ruth, haven't seen her around for a while. Hope you are okay Ruth?

I was just scanning thru the original Poetry thread reliving some happy conversations and brilliant poems from last summer.  I hope you don't mind, Chris, but I'm posting your brilliant poem about running a website here.  It's appropriate, it's amusing, it's clever and for all who weren't around last summer, it would be great for them to see it.

Runnin a website – Easy en it? (a question often asked!)
------------------------------------------------
Runnin a website, it ent that ‘ard,
cuz i get to do it from me own backyard,
no getting up early for work anymore,
or eatin me toast as i dash through the door,
cuz the only journey i av to do,
is from the bedroom to the office (via the loo)

No, runnin a website don’t even take brains,
just ten nimble fingers and some blood in ya veins,
warmin ya bum all day on a big comfy chair,
whilst sunning ya’self in the monitors glare.

No, runnin a website, ow ‘ard can it be?
approving some pictures for the ole world to see,
checkin the forum, where the visitors chat,
about little green men and poor ol Merlin the cat.

No, runnin a website, ow 'ard can it be?
Well the truth is quite different – now hear this from me!

The truth! -

When u get up in the morning, there is NO escape,
work is upon ya from first thing til late,
you can’t leave work at the end of the day,
cuz you’re already there! there’s no getting away!

Approving endless pictures one after t’other,
‘where do they all come from!!’ I shouts runnin for cover!
Then there’s the forum to look after  – av u sin what that lot say?
Ow can you control em! There’s no flippin way!
Potty is a word reserved for the few, but on PoE they’re abundant – i tell ya its true!

Comfy in a big chair?! Ha!  Haemorrhoids is the word!
Never ad em before, not even after a difficult ‘richard the third’
but sat in this chair, they just won’t go away,
i guess i got em for good now until me last day!

Don’t need brains for a website to run?
well unless you got money you’ll soon come undone!
for there’s this code and that code all makin none sense,
that when looked at for too long can make you feel dense!
and database, and graphics, that sometimes go wrong,
then thousands of visitors all makin dance an a song!

No, runnin a website is not ard at all!
Not if you got brains an money and a big pillow on you’re stool!
And 1 out of them 3 is all that i got,
an its oblong and fluffy, an i sleeps on it a lot!

So if now you feels sorry for me knowin the truth,
forget about that denzil doin the dirty on ruth,
for without poe and what he as to endure,
you load a mad’ens would av nought to do – thats for sure!,
and this ere website, it don’t come cheap!
so put you’re hand in you’re pocket (and dig it in deep!)
for although the hosting costs are really quite high,
its the cream for me rear that i needs to buy!!

The End
Hosting’s due!  Cry - Donations are highly appreciated!
Please click here if possible! – Many thanks! Smile

We can all try to come up with fundraising schemes, but there is an immediate need too, so I would encourage people to give whatever they can no matter how small the amount.  For all of us who post regularly to the forum, there are probably 5 or 6 members who only submit pictures, but don't post.  Even if we each just donated one dollar or one pound, it would be a considerable sum.

And anybody in the US who makes an online donation thru Pay Pal, Pay Pal will tap your card for dollars and make the conversion to lbs. for the donation to POE.

Over to you POE members!!

In reference to what Peggy..Dove's poem?....I was just reading the poem Ron, posted....Sarah reminds me of an gal I use to know whose name was Sarah Gage, she was an Pennsylvania college student that did genealogy work on the side..she left state side here.. to move to England many years ago. I always wondered if Ron's Sarah was the Sarah I knew back when. He would know if he runs into an huge poster from the Mt Hood Jazz Festival..as I sent her one. Most often an baby grand piano somewhere up on Mt. Hood..in the snow...with an red rose. They are collector items you know..last I heard some of them worth $60 to $100. I knew an local dentist that use to collect them for his office building walls.  My have times changed.

Good morning everyone!  My "Dancing with the Stars" last night had problems the entire night...one contestant may have to drop out due to foot injury. Last night was "rock and roll" night...with "Kiss" being there...I should of grabbed my black leathers. Winks*  Sissy stayed with us last night...she had to be at the downtown hospital to look at her arm from her school PE accident. Say it needs more healing I guess...but they wanted her to get it looked at...still an bit of arm tendon problems.  She's at school, grandpa, whom took her down there early this morning...is back to work also. I'm writing up my "to do" list now...to resume painting and general "Spring Cleaning" around here...windows being cleaned an big need..inside and out.Guess I should get going..this weekend is suppose to be nice...could use some light barkdusting for the general up-swing it gives everything in being "freshened" up around here in the landscaping....you don't have to have lots planted for laying down bark dust to give an more " polished off"  look to one's residence.

Anyone have "Ruth's" addy to send her an line or two?
