Why? because I don't want that England will become like Italy. Italy is beautiful if you consider the arts, the landscape, the food... but inside there are many problems. The same problems that you listed for England (even if, without Europe, Italy would be a third world country). |

Ron Brind Posts: 19041 Joined: 26th Oct 2003 Location: England | Posted at 07:17 on 1st March 2013 Well the truth is UKIP lost the seat by just 1771 votes and kicked David Cameron into third place! In my view thats not a loss, but a massive win, a kick up the backside for Cameron who thinks we are all stupid! Nigel Farage was asked on TV would he do a deal with Cameron in Government. He said "I would never trust David Cameron'. It seems the Tories used UKIP colours for a leaflet during the campaign a couple of days ago! With potentially another 29 million coming to the UK from Bulgaria and Romania at the end of the year UKIP is on a roll and getting 'lazy' voters out to change things....at last! Thank you Nigel Farage and UKIP! A result like that in a General Election would give us a UKIP government! Ha, ha and right now Tory Education Secretary Michael Gove is wriggling on TV like you wouldn't believe! |
Ron Brind Posts: 19041 Joined: 26th Oct 2003 Location: England | Posted at 20:00 on 1st March 2013 Ha, ha, ha David Cameron says it's a protest vote. He got that right! lol |
Ron Brind Posts: 19041 Joined: 26th Oct 2003 Location: England | Posted at 09:37 on 3rd March 2013 Now Tory toff David Cameron says he 'won't lurch to the right' just because UKIP beat them! Doesn't that just show you how out of touch and ignorant he really is? We the public voted him into a position (so sorry for that) to do what we want, but he's forgetten that now hasn't he? This really is a case of the 'tail wagging the dog' isn't it. What say you members? I say keep going the way you are Cameron because that will suit UKIP just fine! |

The demonisation of those who attempt to seek a better life here, away from their ghastly existence in war-torn and economically depressed countries, is appalling. Surely the mark of any civilised society is how we deal with those less fortunate than ourselves: the destitute, the mentally ill, the refugeees seeking asylum. I appreciate that you have many more refugees reaching your shores than we do here in Australia (somebody please point that out to Tony Abbott, our Liberal Party opposition leader.) But the fundamentals remain the same: empathy, compassion, charity. Perhaps I am old-fashioned, and the Christian ethos so many espouse (or pretend to) is no longer part of our Humanity. If so, let me proudly remain old-fashioned. Ron, you say of those coming to your country: "they arrive and say I want house I am entitled, I want money, car, designer clothes, washing machine, mobile phone, meal vouchers and get it!" People say the same here about refugees (or the 'boat people"). I cannot vouch for the truth or otherwise of your statement, but, believe me,I can vouch that refugees seeking a better life in Australia are not set up with a house, a car, designer clothes etc. Yes, meal vouchers, perhaps, because as they are not entitled to work in the first instance, are we to let the starve? This is not a simple issue. Afterall, our Labor Party, which is in pwer at the moment, is not unblemished in this area. But Heaven forbid the Tony Abbotts and Nigel Farages of this world obtaining any more power.
Best of it is they arrive and say I want house I am entitled, I want money, car, designer clothes, washing machine, mobile phone, meal vouchers and get it! |
