I don't have any further details, but wanted to share this with the rest of Peter's POE friends who may not already know. I never met him in person, but only knew him from chatting on POE and enjoying his wonderful pictures. I found him to be a simply lovely man and will miss him greatly and remember him fondly. Rest in peace, dear friend, Peter.

Peter joined Poe in 2006 and contributed a considerable number of photos he enjoyed taking on his travels. Peter was such a kind person; always had time to chat about this and that....especially trains and the Underground we had a common interest in. Here's one of Peter in years gone by when he drove Underground trains out of Ealing Common depot in West London. Picture by Peter Evans

He really was a nice guy with a love and knowledge of trains that surpassed anything I am ever likely to be able to grasp. A sad loss to the POE family... God bless you mate! |

I know his last years were dogged with ill health and now he is relieved of the shackles of his body, free to breath without struggling any more. Gosh! This is too sad! Here is one of my favourite pictures by Pete. The little Robin deciding which way to go. Picture by Peter Evans |

Peter was a very long standing member of POE and my joining so much later did mean that it was not long before he was not on POE so much. What was so apparent though was that Peter and myself shared a passion for Cornwall so I did enjoy very much looking at his Pics of Cornwall. There are two pics of his that I always remember:- Picture by Peter Evans Picture by Peter Evans
