Not sure at all about the yellow sign and bridge shot, if it was Wales the sign for the loos would have a Welsh language translation or did they not do that back then, tried to make out the flag ,still not enough detail.

I don't think they had the dual language signs that far back, but pretty sure it is coastal simple cos of the buildings on the hill

There's a flag flying on a building behind the hotel sign, I know it's a way off but it dosen't look like the Welsh flag, and what is the building, could it be another castle ?

I'm having thoughts on Bude, take a look at this photo (It's very small) Roberts photo could have been taken from the other side of the biridge, it's just the style of the bridge over the river that got me thinking.

Then again I may be totally wrong Smile

Yes I'm now sure it's Bude, I've found a photo on POE by Peter Evans and the bridge and building on the left are identical to the one in Roberts shot.

Picture doesn't want to seem to post though Frown bear with me !!

Wheatley (NOT) Please help us to identify this location

Roberts Photo.

I'm thinking 1169861 is Bude as well going by the flag on the church.

That just leaves the other bit of castle 1169862 which I don't think is Chepstow.
