Good shout John, a road I know only too well both through work over many years and more recent years with my Lake District travels.

I'm thinking something to do with either lead or tin mining here, I could be way off but that's the first thing that came to mind. Need to have a think.

I was thinking the Stannary Courts Dave, but they are limited I think to Devon and Cornwall and are only to do wth tin mining. More thinking needed Smile

I think you might have it with that Dave, from what I can gather the Barmote Courts met twice a year in the Moot Hall in Wirksworth, they altered it to once a year in 1994.

There were set up around 700 years ago, and it's all to do with the royalties from the lead minig in Derbyshire being paid back to the estate of the Duchy of Lancaster - well the miners aren't going to benefit are they Frown

Looks like you've cracked it Smile

Well done Dave Smile

And a good quizzy John, involved a bit of research, but it's nice to learn something new, especially when you're into history like me Smile

Well I have to admit to googling, which I much prefer to try not to do.

Here we go then, let's see how long this lasts

I portrayed the same character in 14 films

I'm thinking Bond films, either someone who played M or Moneypenny, I'm favouring Moneypenny, but I can't think of the actresses full name, I'm thinking her first name might have been Lois ? but the surname escapes me and I'm trying not to Google.
