Dave John Posts: 22335 Joined: 27th Feb 2011 Location: England | Posted at 07:45 on 19th December 2013 Well a little bit of 'googling' and the clue above leads me to Ron and C S Lewis ... and the only vague clue to Gaston's is a tea room somewhere but also found a reference to 'being tutored at Gaston's by Kilpatrick' so could be an education facility of some sort

Both C.S. Lewis and his older brother were sent there for private tuition. C.S.Lewis arrived there aged 15. |
Vince Hawthorn Posts: 12758 Joined: 19th Apr 2010 Location: UK | Posted at 22:19 on 19th December 2013 Sorry John, not right but between them Ruth and Dave have cracked it, it WAS indeed a house in Bookam where C S Lewis stayed for private tuition with Kirkpatrick ( The Knock ) . I have been trying to locate to send Ron a shot but discovered that it was demolished in 1965, finding it was pretty tricky but with the help of the local history society did unearth a few details- unfortunately no pic for POE or Ron. |
