I've known this was happening for quite some months now, but it's worrying that nearly every bank, building society, NHS and other major organisations have failed to upgrade. Whenever I go somewhere the staff are complaining about the computer not working and I notice that they're all still running XP. See below.

Quote -

After 12 years, Microsoft will be ending support for Windows XP

on 8 April. This means the software company won't be offering any more security updates or technical support for the operating system. "It is very important that customers and partners migrate to a modern operating system such as Windows 8.1," Microsoft says.

We have just got new pc's at work running Windows 7. We were the last 7 in the company to be changed. I'm pricing up a new pc for myself cos this one is about 7 years old and is a bit tired to say the least. So bang goes £500 or so to have something decent. Needs afairly powerful processer to run Photoshop and a couple other programmes I have

I have used Ashampoo Burning Studio for many years James, since version 5 and it so simple and easy to use. I am just about to upgrade to version 14 which is the latest one out. One of 2 programmes that I actually pay for !!! Also used some of their other programmes and have no complaints. In my opinion probably the best CD/DVD copying - burning programme available

I think you get a 30 day free trial with Ashampoo but it is a brilliant programme. I've never found one as good and easy to use. Use it for all my copying and burning jobs. Just done a quick Google and I think this is a FREE version which allows copying and burning of CD's and DVD's

Well worth a look I reckon

Thank you Ron, if it isn't there sometime this week, think I'll go back and see if they can track it. It was insured as it it's contents anyway.so you'll still get your money.

Here it is James....John Wheeler married Sarah Larkin....7th child ..Ester b. 1/12/1678..married Samuel Prescott....9th daughter, Thankful b. 3/06/1682  married 1699 Jonas/John Prescott.

Sarah was born at Charlestown , Massachuetts, daughter of Edward Larkin and Joanne, his wife. She was thought to been the 2nd wife of Deacon Robert Hale died 1659.

Deacon Robert Hale of Kent, England..born 1606, Canterbury, Kent, England..died 16 July, 1659 Charlestown, Mass, USA..his second wife was Joanne Hale, m. Edward Larkin." She was born 1603, England as Joanne Cutter/Cutler///most likely "Butler"..of the Earls of Ormond. Which makes me think that the our Larkin family out of Kent, England should include Dr. Thomas Larkyn of Rochester Cathederal before the dissolution of monastaries took place, it was one of the last ones to close. This is where "Charles Dickens" was at one time living and he wrote his books..."Tale of Two Citties".. includes an character named "Larkin"...I imagine this man to have been an templar knight also. He is listed in Brian's website of O'Lorcan family. There was an small group of Templar knights from Ireland supporting Sir William St.Clair...when he got into it with the Royal lines of Scotland over building his "collegiate" school, and went to Ireland. Both Richard St. Clare are there in Kent and another well known templar, but I don' thave my information before me/ Gesh!..at least without looking it up again....so can't remember his name...right now. See Rochester Catherderal, Kent Co., England for it's history. ..and Suffolk co, England also. The earliest this Hale lineage goes to is an Catherine Penn...could she be Quaker William Penn's sister/Aunt?...they haven't any data but her name. I picked up an Sarah Penn in another legacy also might be related. The Rockerfeller that restored Williamsburg, Virginia married an Larkin female also. The Samuel Davies(founder of Princeton University) that I think is my mother's lineage married Jane Holt, and he was Mayor of Williamsburg, Va later on, he was an publisher out of New York. Just as our Larkin in Charlestown kin was an book publisher "at cornhill" and founder of an Historical Bible Society...family into printing bibles...from Charlestown, Mass. Most likely how that family knew Benjamin Franklin and his "Read" wife also....both of them knew George Washington and he has an "Butler" family connection also...or Earl of Ormond. So does Lionel of Antwerp...King Edward's son...of whom may of been later on connected to the Thomas Lewsson line for all our lawson kin coming to Colonial America. Look  up Rowland Lawson. Most of them were the Lawson of Longhirst line which still has five Baronet listings to this history later in England. There is an tie with the Fosters of Bamburgh Castle later on also, and..this kinred group from Scotland has mention of "son in-law...William Lawsonne...1638. That's it, enough for now.
