To day is voting day and the ballot is absolutely rediculous...as no one is running against another in this town...and for the most part the there's only two positions of the same peope for county comminsioner and an ballot by the city for higher funds then the 3 per cent normal raise not"s you've ever seen, with the latter having little or no voice most the time. We are now into the retirement years in this town...we need an ballot to say taxes are based in income received...so those with the money can pay thier fiar share and stop making the low income working guy support the off's. Benjamin Franklin founded the fire fighter's...he did so with an limited staff..and mostly volunterers...whom raised the money to buy the firefighting equiptment. Most fire companies back then were lucky to have one person at the station. but the whole town were volunteers if an fire broke out. Perhaps doing things that way also sawgrade their homes because they aren' thaving to shell out big wads of money to "services"...they can use it to upgrade thier wiring, buy those fire alarms, and household fire hydrants....and install sprinkler systems.

If the city were really into thinking "improvements", I would not be living on an city residentual street with cracks in it growing grass...and paying decent sized pay out in taxes as it is. So I really don' tknow if this isn't another one of those cases where by it don't matter if you vote or not...We have no Democracy these days...it's "Mickey Mouse"  Democracy...to make things "look good" and not telling the truth in ways....as to what the reality of the situation really is.  Our social security hikes are geared for  "cost of living"..means we don't get any..if the prices are higher...and then they hardly cover all the people raising their rates, they barely cover groceries at times.. selfish.thinking... that they are the only ones that make an difference.  If they want more money..maybe more city involvement with fund-raisers would help them....such as street dances and BBQ's....Parades with selling ice cream bars....things that draw in outsiders to help as they enjoy themselves also.

What an wonderful way to end the evening with Merl and Max won Dancing with the stars....though the 2nd and 3rd finalist were outstanding also...I hope they don' t give up on dancing. But I think the came our winners in thier own right also in ways.  One findint out an disabilty doesn't stop an person  and the other couple that her fameas an child hasn't stopped her greatness in being versitle in the entertainment sector as yet.

Friday night on Reddit.com...they had posted the most news worthy things of th e21st century so far....like "roses" being places in the miltary shields in the Ukraine ...an man in the military finding an baby girl alive in teh hati earthquake ruble...and holding her in his arms....three different athletes running an marathon...who stopped to help fellow runners in the race with it went wrong for them....oen young girl who refused to leave her opponent in need ot help running beside her lost $10,000 for doing that....and the pictures went on and on until I was overwelmed  with tears...how so few people could of made such an big difference in the world...and I thought...if these are the ends times...I see there are an few people who never gave up in humanity.... and helping it be an better world.  There was also an little boy helping an 104 lady get rescued off an bridge during Hurricane Katerina... by holding her hand... as they walked across the bridge to relief workers. If you get the chance go back and look at this... as it ought ot be circulated on the net for everyone to see. Just so people can have hope in themselves..... and the world.

Hi Pat

It's lovely and sunny here again too, I've walked about 5 miles this afternoon. David has a gardening job so I dropped him off this morning, took my mum to do her weekly shop, then dropped the car off with him and walked home. Did the same last week, but I added a couple of miles last week as it wasn't quite so warm.

Life is very up and down for you at the moment Pat, hope that hospital appointment comes through and that Bern gets over the knee twisting soon.

  All right for some James!

At least someone else has been busy Ruth.
