Afternoon everyone Smile

I don't think either myself or David would have a clue how to place a bet on a horse, so we won't be winning anything, so good luck to you Ron Laughing

That's a hard way to learn John. The rain is coming down so hard here we can't see to the other side of the valley, it's awful Frown

I agree, a mugs game indeed.

The rain has stopped for the time being, I'm going to venture out for a short walk into the village to the shop - along with a brolly Smile

I guess my mother's cousin, her Itailian Catholic husband use to do the horses all the time down in California.  He was an Hollywood Hair dresser for the movies, with well known movie making clientel..so they probably had plenty of money for such things. But I had an freind that was lucky at winning things like the dog races when they were here in the area. She never got rich off it by any means but winning an hundred to two she usually did...when she went...her and her hubby were running their own restruant...so she didn't get much time off to go to the dog races. She went with me to play Bingo at the Elks Lodge and we won twice there that night to make about $100 for my baby nursery and infant clothing at the time...today he turns 36 years old.

coli in the water so we were told to boil any water we use. My sister lives in Oregon City and she was sickly the other day..and I went 24 hours with this also...just plainly having diareaha for the most part, but it leaves your stomach kind of tender feeling. Rose Parade started last night with fireworks amid an storm cell going up the river.  We didn't go and haven't much since they changed things an week earlier then my birthday. Kind of took the fun out of it for me. Somone decided if they have it over Memorial Day, there would be people off an extra day for coming to it...but it's always been raining so far...not to mention people at the cemetary for Memorial Day...so I don't see what good it was to change the date. Half the ships don' t come in any more either. Things toned down because of economics also. Only CEO's are allowed to have fun I guess...or politicians.

Greece had an 6.9 quake, nothing but minor injuries so far. The President said three buildings were affected, because it was in the ocean for the most part, helps to nullify things...though it rattled things pretty good at any rate. With that I guess I go for now. I'm cooking an huge turkey tomarrow and making it into pans of Turkey Enchiladas..an 20 pounder so should be lots of meat for doing that.. Talk later on.

Me too Pat, can't stand the game. Too many vastly overated and and overpaid prima donnas. Some of them ought to put up OscarsSmile
