  That's it Ruth- well done. The reason for all the control is that the plant contains mescaline , an alkaloid hallucinogenic, hence all the concern. For many years the Peyote Indians have used the cactus in their ceremonies by chewing on slices of the body of the cactus.

  It is still in one piece and it will remain so- just wish the thing would flower but I am a bit hard on what plants I have these days.
