  Ok then,

the latin name please for a plant from the USA that is legal to own in Britain but not in the USA ( unless you belong to a select group ) so name that group as well please.

 I have got one and it is only inch and a half round, oops too much info but I must say I have never got it to flower yet and it must be at least 10/12 years old.

I'm hopeless with plants. I thought some sort of orchid, but that doesn't seem right. As I said I must think on this one.
