Good afternoon on this wet horrible day, hope that you Ruth &John are feeling better.

Been having fun and games getting our boiler over ride, wish it was easier for us oldies. think we have cracked it now though,

Good afternoon everyone Smile

Thanks Pat. Our boiler is reasonably new, the control panel is much more complcated than the old one. It's taken a while but between us we've got to grips with it. They make stuff needlessly complicated, mind you it's a lot easier than the oil fired heating that we never got to work in Cornwall. Turns out even our friends have no end of trouble with that system.

Good Evening to all--i have just let the wife put the heating on---far too early if you ask me.

Last night we were at friends who have a coal fire -it was burning all night with the occasional logs thrown on --a very warm night indeed.Smile

Good evening James. We have a stove with logs, it's runs off gas and is very warm. Next door have a stove that is wood burning, they spend most of the time cleaning it out and either chopping of collecting wood. They moan about it constantly saying they wish they'd got the gas version Smile

There are plenty of trees here too James, it's just not the weather at the moment to be out chopping up wood, which is what our neighbour is doing as I type Smile

My job in winter when at home was making a fire at 6am every morning before the rest got up--and at night bringing 3 buckets of coal in --all part of growing up.Smile--i dont think they would do it these days.
