Lorraine Posts: 215 Joined: 6th Apr 2008 Location: UK | Posted at 14:10 on 1st September 2008 I'm having a day out later in September to Heartbeat country with our Heartbeat Walking Group (wer'e all Heart patients -----bypass/heart attack/ angioplasty ----who attend excercise classes at our local hospital and those who wish can go walking each week) We are going on the N.Yorkshire Moors railway---steam locomotives run for 18 miles between Pickering and Grosmont, which is near Whitby, through some very picturesque countryside. I hope the weather will be kind!! By the way Wolf, if you're an OAP in England you qualify for FREE bus travel----so I can travel from home to Whitby -about 60 miles-for nothing---so old age has some benefits!! |

With the cost of petrol now, I may be better off getting rid of the car and going for the pass. But then again, I would have to try and walk from the buss stop or train station. Oh well, stay as I am I think. |
