Thats as close as I ever want to get to a mute swan again.

I rescued one from a dog attack some years ago, it was bleeding and in shock. I took it home and tended to its wounds, and put it in a pen to recover. When I went back later with some food, it fly at me and battered my legs with its wings. That really hurt so it was a quick farewell from me. Gratitude for you ! Frown

Yeah, Canada geese are also a little rough to handle.

Here's a great picture from Ian Gedge.  I don't know what the bird is though.  I'm guessing some kind of juvenile gull maybe???

I love the way the water looks in this one too.

I love this one of Ray's.  I'm picturing this is how a morning in England looks in the autumn.

Hi Ruth,

I am so pleased you like this picture. This view is taken from my mother's home, overlooking the nearby border with Cornwall. The mist rolls down into the valley most autumn mornings as you see. It is such a beautiful and tranquil place to be, but an awful place to access. (Remember the Arizona Pin-stripes? lol)

Take care,

Ray.
