A Tree Duck, can't they tell us exactly what kind of duck it is?

Many ducks actually nest high in trees, so this happens all the time, but the little darlings just pop right up and waddle off.

It's either a Fulvous Tree Duck or a Black-bellied tree duck.

I didn't know that either.

Incidently, can anybody tell me if duck's quack has no echo or not. I've heard it hasn't but then I've heard that it is a myth and it does echo!

I'm sure if you put it in the right place it would echo. I've never heard that one.

Wood ducks, Barrow’s goldeneyes, common goldeneyes, hooded mergansers, common mergansers and buffleheads, all are cavity nesters.

Mallards are known to nest high at times, sometimes on balconies.

Well, I've just scouted about in google and came up with this. http://www.snopes.com/critters/wild/duckecho.asp I've heard conflicting stories now, so I don't really know. I'm inclined to believe it does echo, I mean, why would it not? I'll have to hang around the canals and wait for them to swim under a bridge or something, LOL!

Thanks anyway Sue.
