Again, elegantly put! Lol. BTW Shaun, did anyone ever tell you that you bear a striking resemblance to John Wayne? Really, you could be his twin! ;-)

If everybody here's being a bit hard on you, I can only say that you brought it on yourself with remarks that would have been best kept to yourself. As for the "fish market" talk, that's why we like it. Sometimes the topics might not be to your liking or interest, but that's the beauty of the internet, you can pick and choose what you want to participate in, nobody's there twisting your arm. Better than the nameless, faceless, rude and crude that's on virtually every other site. The people who regularly participate in this forum have come to regard one another with respect and friendship. I have made great friends here, and have even met some in person last summer, thanks to this GREAT site. The owners of POE, Chris and Sarah, have established a very fine place for us to post our pictures. It's also THEIR choice as to how it's run and what pictures they allow, how the topics are set up, etc. And yet, they are not above asking for our opinions, or implementing our suggestions, given limited resources. But most importantly, they have established a culture here unlike almost any other site on the world wide web - a culture of friendliness, tact and respect. Most of the people who submit photos here are the silent members who don't participate or have minimal participation in the forums. We have all calibers of photos here - some are just tourist snaps, some people are technically savvy, others aren't, and some images are works of art that take your breath away. But every image submitted is from the eye of the beholder, and is a little piece of each person, so to speak. No photo snobbery here, but there are plenty of places on the internet for all those photographers who are so much "better" than us. Thank God POE isn't one of them. I'm sorry to see you go, Anthony, but it's your loss.

I do hope you find a site to your liking because actually I feel really sorry for you, you cannot be a happy person yourself. Anyway, cheers |

You see I never criticise other people in this way for good reason. On here there are lots of people who are so much better than me at photography and also some who are alot worse, some people who add effects, some people who add none. As Ruth said it is all personal taste and makes for an interesting site. If you get lots of comments on a good photo then that photo tends to go to the first few pictures of each tour which is the challenge. If you do not like a photo on here you simply do not comment. As for the forum we talk about everything from the serious to the amusing. We help and support each other through problems and share life experiences. It is a great escape here from a hard world - this is our own special place. I am sorry you missed the point and missed out. |

I'm sure he's still reading this post to see how many people he's annoyed. I bet he goes to all the local public meetings to stand up and say something to be noticed, even his avatar is fading. I am not normally rude but if the guy didnt like the site why didnt he just drift quietly away. good ridance, I say! Fantastic site POE, lovely people on the forum worldwide |
