Hi Sally.  Very interesting thread.  I signed up here in July 2007 but just to sign the guest book.  I was on here almost every night that year just taking in all the lovely photos in anticipation of our first trip there, which we took in November 2007.  That's how we ended up in North Yorkshire - I just couldn't get over how breathtakingly beautiful it was.  But it was about 6 months later that I sent in some pics and joined the forum.  And it's been a truly lovely experience.

I've stayed around the forum because I've grown to know and love all the "regulars."  This place is genuine.  I had the great privelege of meeting Paul Hilton and Anna and Ron Brind in person this past summer, and they're the real deal, warm and welcoming and generous  people I'm happy to call friends.  I think I'm in for the long haul too, Steph.  When I'm not around for any length of time, it's because of other commitments, but I really love it here.  I'm not around for the live chats because of my work hours and the time difference, but I'd rather be here than anywhere else on the www.  It's a nice way to unwind after a long day.

Thanks Ruth for those kind words, we love you all and thank you for taking the time to look in on us here in Oxford. Love you mate!

You're most welcome, Ron. xx (one of those if for Anna).

Sally, what I meant by live chat is being on here when everybody else is and being able to take part in a conversation as opposed to posting in the middle of the night.  Last night Cathy and Sue were around for a bit and we got to "chat" a bit.

Morning Cathy - I'm up later today! I'm OK thank you - very blocked up with my sinuses!

Over the two years I have been a member things have changed so much - some of our regulars have gone and are sadly missed. The beauty of POE is that we can come on here whatever time and however often and leave our thoughts in the confidence that someone will read later. With my busy life of running a business, bringing up 3 children and general chaos I like this better than such as having MSN (which I can't use) where it is more difficult to pop in and out if you know what I mean!

Stephanie, try and tak some time out for yourself now and again, don't want you getting stress problems as well as everything else you are having to endure.

I found POE in 2006, but couldn't get signed in until 2007.

I've been on the forum since the beginning I think.
