If I may also welcome Frank to PoE. There's a village south of Huddersfield I'd like to see, no one has yet posted any photos, and that's the village of Honley. A lovely village and i'd especially like to see Station Rd; part of a family history type of thing. Often thought of going up there myself one of these days, to take in St Michael's church at Emley as well.

Will enjoy looking at Frank's photos of his region none the less; a very picturesque area.

Hi Frank and a warm welcome to the site. We're glad you like it Smile
I've just been enjoying approving your pictures of Slaithwaite (Sarah approved your others earlier). Many thanks for adding them. Here is one I particularly liked -

Thanks, yeah I like that pic too, the sky was gorgeous that night.

Thank you for the welcome everyone. Smile

Hi Paul, I'm hoping to go to the Honley show on June 14th, it's an annual rural show and is a nice day out. I try to go every year but work has a bad habit of preventing me. I have managed to take my grandson for the last two years though. If I get there this year I'll see what I can do about a pic of station road for you.

Peter, that's the ledgendary Ron Brind that you are talking about if you don't mind please!! See http://nigeljames.typepad.co.uk/nigels_notes/2007/05/a_truly_memorab.html And Frank, if you listen to Peter you will soon realise that I am sensible, can spell, and he is funny, ugly and can't spell to save his life. Don't believe me? Check out his posts, they are a laugh a minute!
