I'm pleased to hear you too, are a Person Of English descent -- not for a moment though do I disregard our friends of other nationalities, of whom I have made many here. I joined POE way back, then filed the address away. Only recently did I find it. I was born in London and at the outbreak of the war my parents moved to Dorset. Much of my education was carried out in dugouts covered with steel mesh and chicken wire, then covered with turf. I left school at the age of fourteen to help my families finances. My first job was as junior porter at West Moors railway station ( I will be posting a B/W picture of that). I was forced to join the navy at seventeen+half...spent time in Bath, York, Edinburgh and after two trips around the world on an aircraft carrier - HMS Ocean, I was posted to Cornwall...just outside Padstow, before joining the Roal Yacht Britannia when she was first built. My wife and I, along with our four children emigrated to Australia in 1968. When we leave in August it will be our first visit back. Australia is our home, but nothing can erase the memories, which are reignited from time to time by the magnificent pictures displayed here. Harry

Sorry about the duplication - there was a problem overtyping...as I typed a letter my pc would erase the next one. I also tried to display an image in Poe pictures. That too was unsuccessful. When I clicked on the town nothing happened. HELP! I am not completely pc orientated Harry |

I have already added quite a few photo's to my favourites but as one of you said, it will take ages to go through them all, if I ever do. Harry, where abouts are you ? I am in Bawley Point, south coast of NSW. |
