Hello All,

Just joined up and thought I'd say hello.  I'm 44, live just outside of Albany, New York, love Britain and just got back from my first trip about a month ago now (doesn't seem that long).

I am a writer by profession and have an extreme passion for British history and specifically the Second World War.  More specifically I am quite passionate about the Battle of Britain.

Hi Johnny and welcome to POE! Smile I don't have an interest in WWII but I do love the era...the men wore hats and the ladies wore gloves. lol!

Oh, I am in Boston BTW, we're practically neighbors.Smile

Hi Diana,

A different era to be sure.  I've always liked the idea of dressing for the occassion!

I love Boston, it's a great city (although always perplexing to drive in).

Hi Johnny, welcome to Poe.  I love WWII history too and more specifically stories about the British intelligence ( I have a taste for drama:).

Oh god Johnny! I NEVER drive in Boston. LOL! I walk or take the subway; it's much less taxing on the brain. WinkLaughing

I agree with you about dressing for the occassion!

Hi Johnny and welcome. My husband loves the Second World War history too - his father served in the Eighth Army throughout the whole war - he fought in Africa then eventually travelled all across Europe as part of the liberation and finished up in Venice at the end of the War. Sadly he has been dead for 20 years now but my husband still loves to retell some of his recollections.

I am from the West Midlands. Wheeler is one of my family names - my sister has done alot of work on our family history.
