A family-run pub set on the New Bedford River in Mepal, 8 miles from Ely, The Three Pickerels has countryside and river views, plus free WiFi and home-cooked food. The bedrooms offer views of the open countryside and all have private bathrooms. Other features include a flat-screen TV and tea/coffee making facilities. The Three Pickerels offers a Mediterranean evening menu, and the dishes are freshly prepared everyday and the menu is changed seasonally. Also on offer on Monday and Tuesday evening is a bar menu, including homemade pies and soups. In the summer months alfresco dining is available on the river terrace. Cambridge, Newmarket and Peterborough are all about 40 minutes’ drive from The Three Pickerels. Wicken Fen National Nature Reserve is a 20-minute drive away and there is free parking at the property.
