Nursery rhymes for Grown-Ups!

Four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie
But when I had sampled them,
I found them rather dry.

Baa Baa Black Sheep have you any wool
Do you think that I could have some,
I’m feeling rather cool.

Boys and girls come out to play
You may as well enjoy yourselves,
You’ll be old as I one day

Ding Dong Dell Pussy’s in the well
I don’t think I can get him out…
What’s that funny smell?

Diddle Diddle Dumpling, my son John
If I really named him that,
He’d be long gone!

Jack Sprat could eat no fat, his wife could eat no lean
They obviously have starved themselves
They can’t be seen!

Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water
Jack was not allowed to marry Jill…
She was his brother’s daughter

Mary, Mary, quite contrary how does your garden grow?
You shouldn’t move the fence my dear
That’s not your land, you know!

Old King Cole was a merry old soul, a merry old soul was he
I guess if I was in his place
I’d too, be as merry as can be

Yankee Doodle went to town riding on a pony
He found the going somewhat rough
The road was very stony

I will not again copy from notepad...as happened here, with some minor changes.

This is how my last poem should read...the impetus is lost when not in poetic form.

Frailty

I'm human frailty at its worst

For extra energy I always thirst

The body ages, the mind dimishes

I look forward to when life fineshes

But No, there's plenty for which to live

I believe I still have lots to give -

Grandchildren need to know

And learn life's experiences as they grow

And who will tend the overgrown weeds

Or plant the new season's seeds?

To eat my own home grown greenery

And how I'd miss life's magic scenery

I can still motivate my legs

To collect the daily chicken's eggs

Cleaning windows, brushing the yard

Becomes more trying, sometimes hard

But then I know how I am blessed

I have a wife who is the best

Who helps me when I'm in pain

To revitalize my urge to live again

All these things rejuvenate

From each morning until lateFrownSmile

 That's more like it!

Can someone please`tell me how to 'bring up' the pale blue tile which quotes another's words.................OK, I know I'm dumb!

Harry

There have been so many words written by other members, of loved ones lost.  I have not responded...I understand the pain of your loss, but how does one REALLY say, "I'm sorry"? Nevertheless, to those who experience grief, I offer my sincere condolences.

Harry

UMM!...... I did that at the beginnining and I opened a heap of jumbled digits.  I'll try again, and if it doesn't work, I'll fire a shotgun full of digits back at you, Peter and Poe (in that order of response...) Thanks, anyway...HarryLaughing

if your sad or in a rage

come on over to my problem page

question me as much as you like

about your wife or your motorbike

I'll sort it out without a fuss

in time to catch the Penzance bus

so come on over and give it a try

and wipe the tears away from your eye

cos a problem shared is a problem halved

its not for real, just for a laugh
