Hello Denzil.  Embarassed

I was looking for you yesterday - Harry and Lyn even noticed and Harry even wrote a poem about it.  Isn't it good?  (Thanks, Harry!)

I really love the poem you wrote for me, Denzil, so I wrote one for you too.  But I don't want you reading it while Mrs. T's looking over your shoulder.  Let me know when the coast is clear and I'll send it, OK?

Good, Denzil.  Here it is:  Wink

Denzil, Denzil, what shall I do?

I'm longing for someone, that'd be you.

The poem you wrote for me worked like a broom

Made me wish, "Why aren't you my groom?"

Not a groom like they have in Bodmin

But a gent like you, not an odd 'un.  Undecided

But Mrs. T's back, she just don't know

That she's lucky she's not with Paul in Padstow.

She came to her senses, and went back to you

Maybe Kevin and Goldie made her true

Or it could be your beard, or it could be your pink

Or it could be the cream you like to drink.

She's always smiling, but you're never grumpy

Even mornings after too much scrumpy.

She remembers the Denzil from the days of courtin'

Although there'll be no more rides on the Norton.

I just don't know what she sees in that Paul

When she's got you, cuz you're such a doll.

Even though with your hip, you're a little gimpy

Your wisdom and kindness are never skimpy.

Why couldn't Redruth have been my town?

That would be better than having a crown.

Instead, its my name after too much sun,

But I know your heart I would've won.

Living with you and Goldie and Kevin,

And even the sheep, must be heaven.....

Lol-ling about all day in the top field,

But it's only a dream, cuz you're not real.  Cry

Thanks for meeting me once in a while

And giving all the POEr's a smile.

Denzil, Denzil, best bloke in Cornwall.

I'll love you til I die and all.  Smile

Awwwww. I had a lady write a love poem for me once, but her husband found it before she could give it to me.

Thank you Denzil.  Thank you also, Lyn.  Here is another to fill the page.  I sent this to an institution for girls with image problems...It hangs on a wll there.

Harry

Vanity

Mirror, mirror, on the wall
Why don’t you be kind to all?
Tell them, following their inspection
Of their true selves in their reflection

Don’t tell them they are thin
Or grossly overweight, therein
Look straight into their eyes
And let them truthfully recognize

Don’t flatter them of unreal beauty
That is not your steadfast duty
Let them see their life-like portraits
With all their individual personal traits

With all the blemishes the Artist gave
In their minds-eye they must save
Beauty-spots and imperfections
As given on His profound directions

He made not two of them the same
Each one would be perfect in His name
Mirror, when they, their appearance question
Tell them the truth…they are of God’s creation

What He has given in his name -
Whatever your veneer, there is no shame
If He is happy, then so should you be
Your appearance is how He wants all to see
