My guess is starlings, some migrate and some are resident here. Jays are such beautiful birds, we have a definite lack of them in my area. Keep your eyes out on the berry bushes everyone, you might just see a waxwing, it's that time of year now!! |

I've had the morning off and popped down to the next village, Ellerker, for a little wander, as you do. I've seen a buzzard, 14 long tailed tits flocking with numerous bluetits and great tits, a linnet (gorgeous but camera shy lol) and a yellow wagtail. I love these crisp October days! I was very surprised to see a small tortoiseshell butterfly and a couple of common darter dragonflies, especially as we had a frost last night. A trip to the wetlands is in order this weekend, weather permitting....I think there's a good chance of seeing some fieldfares and redwings, not to mention the elusive kingfisher I've been trying to photograph all year!!!!!!!! I will get him eventually! |

And if you see any tractors ploughing fields be sure and snap one or two for me. I was in England this time last year, oh how I love the Autumn too. |
