We have the Common Snipe here too Ruth. The only Snipe in the U.S.

England has three Snipe, The Snip, Jack Snipe and Great Snipe. I wonder which one you saw Roy?

Sue, did you know that a lot of people in the US don't believe the snipe exists.  The expression, "let's go snipe hunting..." usually meant something else, n*****y.

Hi Folks. Its nice to be backLaughing

I had three Wrens in the garden this morning. They were chasing each other too fast for me to get any photos.  Yesterday at the wetlands park there were six Curlews and a rather shy Snipe.  I managed a couple of pictures they are not of the best quality, but i will submit them ASAP.

Nice to see you Roy. These pics are now live.

Excellent shot Roy. This would be The Snipe as it has the long bill. And the reflection is perfect too.

Yes, I've heard about Snipe hunting. I was all mad at first until someone explained what it meant.

Hi Folks.

I realise that this might not be the correct place to say this but i would just like to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who has made comments to my pictures, particularly my bird pictures, over the last few weeks. As some of you will know i have had difficulties in receiving my e-mails. This has now been sorted out and i have just received over 250 e-mails from POE that have been stuck in my ISP. spam folder.

As you can imagine it will take some time to go through all these massages, and i will not be able to reply to them all.

Many thanks also to POE for all the assistance in this matter.

I have to say that it was not a nice feeling being cut off from all all you nice folks.

Thanks again.

Roy J.
