Wolf Posts: 3423 Joined: 9th Jul 2008 Location: Australia | quotePosted at 05:53 on 13th November 2008 Simple Barbecued Aussie lamb chops This very tasty and easy marinade for lamb chops can also be used for steaks. ingredients * 1/4 cup white vinegar * 2 teaspoons salt * 1/2 teaspoon black pepper * 2 cloves garlic, crushed * 1 brown onion, thinly sliced * 2 tablespoons olive oil * 1kg lamb chops preparation method 1. Mix together the vinegar, salt, pepper, garlic, onion and olive oil in a large resealable bag until the salt has dissolved. Add lamb; toss until coated and marinate in refrigerator for 2 hours. 2. Preheat a barbecue or grill pan over medium-high heat. 3. Remove lamb from the marinade and leave any onions on that stick to the meat. Discard any remaining marinade. Cook chops for about 3 minutes each side for medium or until cooked as desired. |
Wolf Posts: 3423 Joined: 9th Jul 2008 Location: Australia | quotePosted at 05:54 on 13th November 2008 Beef Souvlaki..... or Lamb 500g thinly sliced steak or lamb 2 teaspoons dried oregano 2 teaspoons minced garlic 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper 2 teaspoons oil 1/4 cup lemon juice Sauce 1/3 cup plain yogurt 1/2 teaspoon dried dill mix together 1 teaspoon red wine vinegar 1 teaspoon minced garlic Combine spices and oil and marinate meat toss with lemon juice and let stand for 5 minutes. stir fry meat in hot pan in small batches top tortilla wrap with lettuce and tomato ,meat .... then drizzle with sauce wrap and enjoy |

Right now here in this little desert town, lamb is hard to find, and when it does appear, it is WAY expensive. Silly really, as once upon a time one of the big industries here (if you can call it big, or an industry) was sheep farming. And because of that we have a HUGE Basque population (with names that are quite unpronounceable). |
