A Great avatar  Rob and a very special moment. My Mom always says that being a grandparent has been even more special than being a parent!

Also congratulations Emily on your fabulous results (missed the post before as I was in Cornwall). A very proud moment for you all Chris, Sarah, Anna and Ron! Can't believe that my eldest Joseph is going into year 9 this year - doesn't time fly when they go to senior school!

Thanks Stephanie--being a grandparent is an incredible experience. By the way, congratulations to everyone else in this thread!

My avatar says it all when it comes to special moments. I'm holding my new granddaughter Eva Lucia 45 minutes after her birth in December 2008. Wow--what an experience! Now at 9 months she is the absolute apple of my eye! What a gift!

Congratulations, Rob, and what a lovely photo.Smile

Thanks Krissy. My daughter-in-law is Venezuelan so she and my son have followed the Spanish tradition of using the father's name as the official surname followed by the mother's maiden name, hence: Eva Lucia Faleer Solorzano, though she will use only Faleer as her last name for school, etc. My son is a tenor and choral director and my daughter-in-law is a former mezzo-soprano with a professional opera company in Caracas, so we are all hoping that Eva Lucia will have a fine singing voice as well. Judging by the sheer volume of sound she can already generate, it seems a good possibility!
