We understand so little of what goes on in, or even what goes wrong with, the human mind, and it can ve a very distressing thing when someone you love exhibits the symptoms shown by your father.  The worst part of it is that your inability to do 'something helpful' makes you feel totally useless, at least for that particular moment.

Your friends here on POE all know how very caring you are, and I feel sure that you will have our prayers, or, in the case of those who profess to be atheists or agnostics, their good wishes and support.  It also goes without saying that the support we offer is total and unconditional.  May God bless you, and all your familyat this very difficult and alarming time.

It's happened again!  The post didn't appear, and after I'd refreshed the page it was duplicated!  In case I have something nasty on my computer I'm going to log out and run my AV/spywrae/rootkit software et al.  Of course, the alternative could be that I'm experiencing problems with the computer memory, which at times seems as bad as my own memory!  'nuff said!

Sorry to hear that Catherine. It is such a dreadful illness for the family to cope with. I had a friend who suffered with it which gave me a small idea of how awful it was for his family. You are in my prayers.

Hi Alan. I hope it hasn't caused you too much inconvenience, but the double post is caused by a problem with the site when you hit the refresh button, not a problem with your computer. Sorry about that! It's just another one of those things on the list, which we hope to get fixed at some stage. If you do it again please don't worry about it, the duplicate entry will get deleted eventually, as soon as we or a moderator spots it.

Thanks Chris and Sarah.  I really thought it was something wrong at my end when it happened twice!  Anyway, some good came out of it.  I've given my computer, 'Le Escargot', a good clean out and an even better kick up the hard drive, so we'll see what that does.  The site is great, and I know how hard it must have been to bring it all together in the first place, let alone maintain and keep it running.  Just want you to know how much it's all appreciated.
