I read in one of the other threads that you've never gotten homesick for England until you started surfing around POE. Know what, I've spent 10 whole days of my life there, and I'm homesick too. The place definitely grows on ya. But I guess I'm lucky because I get to relive our trip every time I open this site.

My brother has lived there since a teenager, in Limavady county Derry. Hewas over here about twelve years ago and my wife and daughter would try and keep him talking just to listen to him. |

My mom would have loved to have been able to go. Her dad was born in Pennsylvania of Irish immigrant parents, and he mother was born in Scotland, though my grandmother's parents had moved to Scotland from Ireland before gram was born. So my mom grew up around a lot of people from the "old country." I was wishing she could have been with me. We were only is 6 counties, so we have 26 to go. We have 2 couples at my church who are from Ireland and I could listen to them talk all day.

Will cost me a fortune. |

My husband and I hope to go again next year as well, probably a year from now. It's cheaper to go during the off season. And after flying that long, you have to visit your brother in Ireland whilst you're there in the same neighborhood. Ryan Air had ridiculously cheap fares between England and Ireland (at least they did last year - don't know about now).

They charge by the bag and I believe it was 5 pounds per bag, but 5.50 for every kilo over 15 kilos in weight. (about 33 lbs). So that was our excuse for traveling light. Check out their website and see how cheap it is. And they fly out of Luton, which isn't too far from our Lyn.
