I remember that one too Diana. I also remember getting my mouth washed out with soap if I said something wrong or back talked!

Ivory soap didn't taste too bad! YellSurprisedLaughing

Hi Mick, I remember years ago, a teacher saying 'Stear, you will never make anything of yourself'. It gave me the drive and energy to try prove him wrong....Sadly though, in the event, he was right!

Not true Ray. I used to wonder, what is my purpose in this life, of what use am I? I have no great talent, I am not particularly fond of people (individuals, yes, but not people en mass), and I don't have an ambitious bone in my body. LOL! However, after years of soul searching I have come to this conclusion:

We are exactly who we were created to me. We inhabit the bodies we were meant to inhabit and our "purpose" on this earth is simply to be the best "me" that we can be within those parameters. Therefore, every decision we make about our life must be preceded by the question; does what I am about to do reflect the best me that I can be in this situation? Does it elevate me or does it denigrate me?

I am not saying I always make the choice that presents me as I wish to be but at least I am aware of it when I don't. From there I try to forgive myself and make a better choice next time.

Well put Diana!

I remember another of my father's favorite sayings. Whenever we would ask him for something his answer was always "We'll see!" Never got a straight answer out of him. We still tease him to this day about it. Smile
