Only the wildcat in Scotland Ruth. But for some reason, most counties seem to have a stray ''large cat'', I presume they're animals that have escaped from private collections or zoos maybe. All I know is, the one(s) I saw was/were no ordinary domestic cat(s)!!

Yes Cathy, I wish I'd had a video camera too! Mind you, I had my camera trained on the pheasant but it happened so quick I didn't stand a chance of a photo.

Andy, don't ya just love those moments though? When you see something like that you get a photo in your memory. And think wow I was so lucky to see it! Some amazing things happen through life that can't always be filmed but we get the chance to see them with our own eyes. Smile

All my best pictures are the ones I couldn't take Cathy! Kingfishers, baby birds, animals etc. Never mind though, time is (hopefully) on my side!

Its a bit like the anglers, "the one that got away" aint it? How many times has that happened to us all? If only we had been faster on the shutter button.

The Antpitta avis canis Ridgley is a bird that looks like a stuffed duck on stilts and barks like a dog. The bird was discovered by ornithologist Robert S. Ridgley in the Andes in Ecuador in June 1998. Thirty of these long-legged, black-and-white barking birds were found. It apparently had gone undetected because it lives in remote parts and, of course, doesn't sing. The size of a duck, it is one of the largest birds discovered in the last 50 years.
