But for some reason, most counties seem to have a stray ''large cat'', I presume they're animals that have escaped from private collections or zoos maybe. All I know is, the one(s) I saw was/were no ordinary domestic cat(s)!! Yes Cathy, I wish I'd had a video camera too! Mind you, I had my camera trained on the pheasant but it happened so quick I didn't stand a chance of a photo. |

When you see something like that you get a photo in your memory. And think wow I was so lucky to see it! Some amazing things happen through life that can't always be filmed but we get the chance to see them with our own eyes. |

The bird was discovered by ornithologist Robert S. Ridgley in the Andes in Ecuador in June 1998. Thirty of these long-legged, black-and-white barking birds were found. It apparently had gone undetected because it lives in remote parts and, of course, doesn't sing. The size of a duck, it is one of the largest birds discovered in the last 50 years. |
