I have not signed on to POE since the early summer due to various circumstances - not that I am a chatty person anyway, I did enjoy it.  I enjoyed trying to keep up with some of the posts since it was like listening to friends and family chat.  Imagine my surprise when I haven't logged on in about 3 months to read about all the discord and broken fences.  Now I realize it is none of my business, I don't know what went on but I have learned the last few months that LIFE IS TOO SHORT.

I have been diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer.  It is in my bones, lymph nodes and I have a lesion on my scalp.  My prognosis is maybe 5-8 years.   I guess that isn't bad compared to some cancers, but I realize I am not ready to go.  I need to see my son gorw up  and finish school, spend more time with my husband and son, friends and family and less time working (I wish).   In my personal life I am putting aside conflict that I had with one of my brothers and I trying to encourage the rest of my family to do the same.  We are after all family and nothing comes before family.   Hopefully with faith, prayer and support from my family and friends I can extend the length of time I have left.

This has opened my eyes to how short and unexpected life can be.  Everyone here at POE is like an extended family and you need to try and get over the hurt feelings and animosity.  We are all adults and can rise above it and put the past behind you and get back to being the family that I enjoy keeping tabs on.

I so agree with you Karen!

I am also heart sick over your diagnosis! Dear Lady you have my prayers and good wishes with you always. I am at a loss for words. I just feel so deeply for you and what you must be going through. Lots of hugs and kisses to keep you smiling!

Oh, Karen, I'm so sorry to hear about you illness!  I'm sitting here with tears now, because I am so moved by your posting and how brave and selfless it was for you to write, in an effort to help us "mend fences."

I hope the closeness we've come to share here is really the cause.  Maybe we've become a little too close and need a break, especially at such a hectic time of year.  But it's so true, life is too short to fall out, even over more serious stuff than what's been happening here.  None of us is promised tomorrow.

You'll be in my daily prayers, Karen.  Thank you so much for the reminder and the encouragement.  You are a gem.  I'm glad you're back, but if you choose not to "hang out" at the forum, thanks for keeping tabs on us.

God bless you and yours, Karen.

I have wondered just what I would say , when I came back to Poe, The reason I left was out of frustration and the lack of any direction. I could deal with any insult or criticism aimed at me , but when a number of my friends where insulted and under attack I thought it better to leave before I said something really bad.
When I left my farming life I kept all my fencing gear , so the fence is all fixed up at my end. I cannot speak for any of the other members who were hurt.

Well, all that matters is that you came back, Wolf.  I MISSED YOU!!!  Hope all is well in Oz today.  I've been sitting here the last few hours writing Christmas cards and posting.  I'm multi-tasking, LOL!

Glad you're here. Wolf. XO

Karen! Words escape me. I am heartsick to hear this sad news.

I am sorry that you had to come back to POE and find us all of a muddle, but your words of wisdom are a lesson to us.

Stay with us, and we'll support you all we can.

God bless!
